Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (GLIAL) | Subependymoma | 14B1 SE-E Hybrid (Case 14) 2B H&E 2X
14B1-3 H&E stained sections prepared from specimen #2 show a neoplasm with moderate to high cellularity. Most of the tumor cells have round to oval nuclei, finely granular chromatin, and long cytoplasmic processes that form vague rosettes, prominent pseudorosettes and canals in many areas. There is degenerative atypia but mitoses are rare. There is neither microvascular proliferation nor necrosis. There is strong reactivity for GFAP within most tumor cells and focal areas with paranuclear dot-like reactivity for EMA.
