7B2-5 There is variation in histologic appearance from site to site in the neoplasm. Most cysts are filled with homogeneous eosinophilic to basophilic material. Vessels within the tumor often show mural thickening and hyalinization and occasionally show some complexity, but do not show endothelial hyperplasia. Rare vessels appear thrombosed or show paravascular organizing fibrin. Modest hemosiderin deposits and focal collections of pigmented macrophages are also noted. Other rare vessels show sparse associated lymphocytes. No mitotic figures are appreciated. There is no evidence of perivascular pseudorosettes or true ependymal rosettes.
