2B4 Metastases, melanoma (Case 2) _12
2B4-7 Coronal sections of the cerebral hemispheres reveal multiple gray-brown lesions at the gray-white matter junction in all areas of the neocortex, as well as in the right thalamus and bilateral cerebellar hemispheres. Some of the lesions, appear necrotic and liquefactive, with dark red-brown semi-solid material within a circumscribed cavity. The largest lesion is in the anterior right temporal cortex, measuring approximately 3.4 cm. There is an area of discoloration of the white matter in the superficial left frontal cortex. In the left parieto-occipital cortex, there is an area of white-yellow, caseous-appearing material within primarily white matter consistent with radiation effect.
