Immunohistochemistry classifies the malignancy with positive staining of the tumor cells for NKX3.1, which is typically positive in primary prostatic adenocarcinomas, but often completely lost in metastatic prostate cancers. In this case staining was intense. ---- Not shown: Tumor cells are not immunoreactive for CK7, CK 20, HMB45 and PAX-8.
