11A1 Metastasis, prostate (spinal cord) (Case 11) H&E 40X
Case 11 History ---- The patient is a 66-year-old man with a history of metastatic prostate cancer. He presented with one day of urinary retention. Total spine CT and MRI showed a T10-T12 osseous lesion compressing the spinal cord. 11A1 H&E demonstrates a metastatic adenocarcinoma consisting of nests of tumor cells with pleomorphic round nuclei, occasionally prominent nucleoli, and vacuolated clear cytoplasm. Lymphovascular invasion is present, with large tumor thrombi present.
