Case 24 Metastases Renal CA ---- The patient is a 56 year old man with a history of metastatic renal cell carcinoma to the right radius. He has lytic lesions of the right L3 pedicle and L5 vertebral body. Operative procedure; L5 corpectomy anterior reconstruction. ---- Sections of the vertebra show cortical bone fragments, bone marrow and connective tissue widely infiltrated by carcinoma that has abundant clear cytoplasm, irregular nuclei, and prominent nucleoli as its predominant features. These features are consistent with metastasis from a known primary renal cell carcinoma.
