30B1,2 Considering the mimicry of hemangioblastoma (HAB) with renal carcinoma, and the frequent clinical question in cases of von Hippel Lindau syndrome in which both renal cell carcinoma and hemangioblastoma may be found as brain tumors, the case shown as 30A was not immunoreactive for the HAB marker inhibin (30B1) and was reactive for PAX-8. (30B2), consistent with a renal cell carcinoma diagnosis.
