31A1 Metastasis, renal (Case 31) H&E 5
Case 31 History ---- The patient is a 68-year-old man with a history of renal cell carcinoma status post nephrectomy in 2010 with T8 right paraspinal metastasis status post resection. MRI reveals a 1 cm residual enhancing intradural lesion consistent with metastasis at level of T8. Operative procedure: Tumor resection. ---- 31A1-3 Sections show a malignant neoplasm composed of tumor cells with irregular, hyperchromatic nuclei and predominantly clear cytoplasm in the vascular-rich background. The morphology is similar to the patient's prior resection specimen of the T8 paraspinal metastasis.
