Case 42 History ---- The patient is a 52 year old woman with presumed brain metastasis of biopsy-proven lung carcinoma two years prior, status post chemotherapy and radiation, now with worsening neurological symptoms. Operative procedure: Resection of brain tumor. ---- 42A Sections show densely-packed tumor cells with significant nuclear pleomorphism. Many of the tumor cells have prominent eosinophilic nucleoli. Mitotic figures are frequent. Necrosis is extensive.
