53A1,2 Sections show a metastatic carcinoma with extensive necrosis. The tumor cells are pleomorphic, with large nuclei, frequent prominent nucleoli, and moderate amounts of eosinophilic cytoplasm, and are arranged in a sheeted, papillary or cribriform architecture. Mitotic figures, including atypical forms, are numerous.
