56A Metastasis, lung, neuroendocrine carcinoma (Case 56) T2 1
Case 56 History ---- The patient is a 71-year-old man with a past medical history of grade 2 neuroendocrine carcinoma (atypical carcinoid) of the lung with lymph node metastasis, status-post left lower lobectomy and lymph node dissection in 01/2013. Recently, he presented with a six-week history of persistent, worsening back pain after a fall, accompanied by difficulty walking and numbness in both legs. ---- 56A MRI shows a well-defined, 1.7 x 1.5 x 2.3 cm, T1 hypointense (56A), T2 hyperintense, homogeneously enhancing, intradural extramedullary tumor at T11-T12, that displaces the conus medullaris. Operative procedure: Thoracic lumbar laminectomy for tumor resection.
