Case 58 History ---- The patient is a 56-year-old woman with a history of poorly differentiated non-small cell carcinoma of the lung with brain metastasis. Operative procedure: Right parietal occipital craniotomy for tumor resection with Stealth and MRI guidance.---- 58A Sections show a poorly differentiated carcinoma composed of sheets of pleomorphic cells with focal abortive gland formation. Large areas of sharply demarcated tumor necrosis are seen. Mitotic rate is high, and atypical mitoses are present throughout the tumor.
