Case 86 History ---- The patient is a 42-year-old woman with a metastatic breast cancer and known dorsal compressive mass at L4. Operative procedure: Laminectomy lumbar discectomy-resection of a spinal cord tumor. ---- 86A1,2 Sections show a metastatic carcinoma. The tumor cells have large nuclei, vesicular chromatin, prominent nucleoli, moderate amounts of eosinophilic cytoplasm, and are arranged in small glands or nests.
