93A0 Case 93 History
Case 93 History ---- The patient is a 45-year-old woman with a history of invasive ductal carcinoma diagnosed in April 2012, as well as multiple lytic lesions in the pelvis, lumbar spine and sacral area, biopsied to show metastatic carcinoma consistent with breast primary. The patient was treated with chemotherapy and radiation to the sacral lesion. MR imaging performed July 2012 showed presumed brain metastases, for which the patient underwent a course of whole brain radiation. The patient has been continued on a variety of chemotherapeutic agents since 2012. MRI performed September 2014 showed an increase in size and associated perilesional edema within an area of contrast enhancement in the right anterior frontal lobe measuring 2.4 x 3.1 cm. Additionally, there is an interval increase in the size of an abnormally enhancing pituitary and infundibular mass. Operative procedure: Right frontotemporal craniotomy for resection of right frontal metastasis and microsurgical biopsy and limited resection of suprasellar metastasis.
