Case 6 History ---- The patient was a 15 year old girl with brain tumor. Operative procedure: Craniotomy and removal of brain tumor involving the septum pellucidum ---- 6A1-3 Sections show a neoplasm consisting of cells with uniform round small nuclei with a salt-and-pepper chromatin pattern and indistinct cytoplasmic borders set against a neuropil-like background. The tumor has alternating areas of hypocellular and hypercellular areas. Occasional mitotic figures are identified. There are focal microscopic areas of necrosis. The tumor has a distinct sharp border with surrounding brain tissue.
