Sections reveal a moderate to highly cellular, relatively solid-appearing neoplasm with mild nuclear pleomorphism. The majority of tumor cells have round to oval nuclei with delicate chromatin and either clear perinuclear halos or small quantities of eosinophilic cytoplasm. Mitotic figures are hard to find and there is no definite evidence of either microvascular proliferation or necrosis.
