Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (NEURONAL) | DNET | 18F DNET (Case 18) CD-34
Reactivity for CD34 is observed in endothelial cells, highlighting the fine vasculature of the tumor tissue, and also in a few small clusters of benign, atypical cells with fine dendritic architecture; these cells are often observed in neoplastic and malformative lesions. Nuclear reactivity for p53 is present in a small percentage of tumor cells. Reactivity for proliferation marker Ki67 (MIB-1 antibody) is generally present in less than one percent of tumor cell nuclei, but ranges up to 5.5% in several focal areas. This histological/immunohistochemical pattern defies simple categorization, but remains consistent with a complex form of DNT with pilocytic features, WHO grade I.
