Neurofilament immunoreactivity is negative in the tumor cells, but highlights the columnar to nested arrangement of the tumor at the periphery of the nodular patches. ---- Ancillary findings (not shown): Immunohistochemistry shows that the majority of tumor cells are negative for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutant R132H. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) studies to evaluate for 1p and 19q co-deletion are negative.
