6B2-4 The tumor nodules have a mucinous background but no large mucin pools are noted. Tumor cells with oligodendroglial morphology are present both within the nodules as well as in the surrounding parenchyma. In addition, there are numerous neurons within the nodules, but no clear evidence of "floating neurons". Mitoses are not identified. Focally, large granular eosinophilic structures are noted and are interpreted as axonal spheroids.
