CD34 shows patchy areas of ramified cells. ---- Ancillary studies (not shown): The dysmorphic neuronal component of the tumor shows slight cytoplasmic staining for synaptophysin, but is negative for neurofilament (NF) and NeuN. The tumor cells show focal faint immunoreactivity for BRAF V600E. The proliferation marker Ki67 stains a very small subset of tumor cells, <1%.
