4A1 Ganglioglioma (Case 4) FLAIR - Copy
Case 4 History ---- The patient is an 18 year old man with a several month long history of headache, nausea, and vomiting who recently noticed difficulty reading. Subsequent exam by an optometrist showed papilledema. MRI showed a complex suprasellar/right thalamic mass with solid enhancing and non-enhancing cystic components, measuring 3.9 cm x 2.5 cm x 3.6 cm. Radiologic differential diagnosis: Pilocytic astrocytoma > ganglioglioma, pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, >> germ cell tumor, adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma. Operative procedure: Craniotomy with resection of tumor. ---- 4A1-4 4A1 A cystic mass arises from the deep gray as shown by FLAIR scan.
