5A1 Papillary Glioneuronal Tumor (PGNT, Case 5) H&E 1.jpg
Case 5 Histories ---- The patient is a 7yo female who, per report, presented with a severe headache and onset of nausea and vomiting. A CT scan showed a right parietal periventricular intracerebral hemorrhage. An MRI scan showed a mass involving the right posterior medial temporal lobe. Operative procedure: Resection. ---- 5A1-4 Sections of the right parietal biopsy show a proliferation of pseudopapillary structures, composed of hyalinized blood vessels, surrounded by perpendicularly oriented cells with delicate fibrillary processes; between the fibrovascular cores, cells with a similar appearance to those seen surrounding blood vessels are growing in a sheet-like pattern. The nuclei are round-to-ovoid, with coarsely clumped chromatin and small nucleoli, often multiple. Some nuclear contour irregularity is noted, but no significant pleomorphism is seen. (H&E)
