4A2 Paraganglioma (Case 4) H&E 4.jpg
The tumor is composed of uniform-appearing round to polygonal cells with moderate amounts of eosinophilic cytoplasm. The tumor cells have a round to oval nucleus with salt and pepper chromatin pattern (“neuroendocrine”). Scattered throughout the tumor, multiple areas with perivascular pseudorosette-like morphology are appreciated. However, in the tumor periphery, the tumor has a somewhat nested architecture, where the tumor cells are surrounded by a fibrovascular stroma.
