Case 2 History ---- The patient is a 59yo female who recently underwent the subtotal resection of a large, non-enhancing fourth ventricular mass. ---- 2A1 Sections reveal a low to moderately cellular neoplasm with mixed glial and neuronal features. The glial component consists of small oval nuclei with bland chromatin and thin elongated processes resembling those of pilocytic astrocytoma. No definite Rosenthal fibers are seen within this component. There are markedly hyalinized blood vessels and mitotic figures are hard to find. (H&E)
