Case 4 History ---- The patient is a 30yo female with an abnormality/tumor of the third ventricle. Per clinical records the patient has a history of recurrent headaches for the previous 3 years with an original episode of headache described as "intense". In late February she had a head CT performed for complaints of sudden onset of blurry vision and leg shaking. Head CT showed dilatation of the third and lateral ventricles secondary to possible aqueductal stenosis. The patient was subsequently scheduled for follow-up MRI which showed severe obstructive hydrocephalus, downward cerebellar tonsil herniation, periventricular white matter changes concerning for trans ependymal flow, and a ring enhancing nodule in the medial right thalamus measuring 9 x 7 x 7 mm. The patient was emergently sent to Barnes Jewish Hospital. Operative procedure: Endoscopic biopsy of third ventricular abnormality/tumor.
