Case 6 History ---- The patient is a 36yo (2015) female with a history of a posterior fossa mass in 1999 and 2010, interpreted at Washington University as rosette-forming glioneuronal tumor, WHO grade 1. ---- 6A1-4 Sections of the initial biopsy of this posterior fossa tumor show a variably cellular neoplasm with prominent microvascular proliferation. The tumor is notable for areas of densely compacted eosinophilic processes alternating with more cellular areas as well as a major component that has an 'oligodendroglial' appearance, with round, regular nuclei, crisp nuclear membranes, and prominent perinuclear halos. Also present in this tumor are areas of microcyst formation with blue-grey myxohyaline features. (H&E)
