A small fragment of adjacent parenchyma is identified, with nests of tumor cells invading the brain parenchyma. (H&E) ---- Immunoperoxidase stains were performed at St. Jude’s Hospital and demonstrate strong and nearly diffuse immunoreactivity for low molecular weight cytokeratin, CAM 5.2, as well as vimentin. Scattered tumor cells display S-100 protein and GFAP immunoreactivity. The tumor cells are negative for EMA, placental alkaline phosphatase, CEA and p53.
