Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (NON-GLIAL NON-NEURONAL) | Choroid plexus papilloma | 17B1 Choroid Plexus Papilloma, atypical (Case 17) H&E WM 1
17B1-5 This is a papillary neoplasm formed by fine branching fibrovascular cores that are covered by a dense columnar, occasionally pseudostratified epithelium with a flat apical border. The tumor cells have oval, generally basally oriented nuclei, slightly granular chromatin, inconspicuous nucleoli, and eosinophilic cytoplasm. Occasional psammoma bodies are present. In this evaluation, 2 mitotic figures were initially identified in 10 random high power (40x objective) fields within a relatively small tissue volume; however, thorough examination of the resection material suggests that this threshold is not met in any other area. There is no evidence of solid growth, anaplastic nuclear features, or necrosis.
