Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (NON-GLIAL NON-NEURONAL) | Choroid plexus papilloma | 6G6 CPP & multiple cysts (Case 6) cyst lining Ki67 1.jpg
Higher magnification of image #6G5 (Ki67 IHC) ---- Comment: The overall characteristics of the "right cerebellar cyst" are those of a simple epithelial lined cyst. The histomorphologic findings are reminiscent of a neurenteric cyst, however GFAP staining is not commonly reported in neurenteric cysts. There have been several reports of 'disseminated' neurenteric cysts, but this usually occurs in the aftermath of surgical manipulation. The immunophenotype is more similar to that of the choroid plexus papilloma. It is likely, although unproven, that the cysts are derived from spread of fragments of the papilloma and have imbibed fluid. It was difficult to separate the collapsed wall of the sampled cyst to any papillary growth within the cyst.
