Case 11 History ---- The patient was a 22 year old man in good health until 15 months before hospitalization when he developed persistent severe headaches accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Two weeks prior to admission he developed blurred vision and shortly thereafter “choked discs”. A pineal mass was suspected and he underwent surgery. Some days post-surgery he suddenly developed apnea and died. At autopsy a mass was found in the third ventricle extending to the quadrigeminal plate and seeded the third ventricle wall. ---- 11A1 A whole mount of the germinoma border with the brain (H&E)
