The tumor showed significant ventricular growth as well as subarachnoid spread in the brainstem. There is continuity with tumor invading the adjacent midbrain parenchyma and apparently gaining access to the cerebral aqueduct and the ventricular system. At various sites in the brainstem there is significant tumor invasion into the parenchyma, particularly into the cerebral peduncles. (H&E)
