Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 14-year-old girl with short stature, delayed puberty, and growth hormone deficiency. She developed hypernatremia with polyuria and polydipsia concerning for diabetes insipidus. MRI showed a 1.2 x 1.3 x 2.1 cm homogeneously enhancing pituitary mass which expanded the sella and also involved the pituitary stalk and inferior hypothalamus. Clinical/Radiological differential diagnosis included germinoma, Langerhans' cell histiocytosis and pituitary macroadenoma. Operative procedure: Endoscopic transphenoidal resection of pituitary mass. ---- 3A1,2 MRI shows an isointense mass in sagittal (arrow, 3A1) and a mildly hyperintense suprasellar mass in coronal section (3A2).
