9C1-3 In other areas the tumor has a yolk-sac tumor appearance which defines the tumor overall as a mixed germ cell tumor which has a poorer prognosis than a pure germinoma. Notice the Schiller-Duval bodies, structures that are characterized by the presence of a central blood vessel lined by flattened layers of tumor shown particularly well in 9C3.(H&E)
