Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (PINEAL) | PPTID (Pineal Parenchymal Tumor Intermediate Differentiation) | 5D PPTID WHO III (Case 5) Ki-67 1.jpg
A Ki-67 stain shows a high labeling index, focally reaching up to 12.5%. (Ki67 IHC) ---- Not shown: There is focal cytoplasmic positivity for chromogranin. The Neu-N stain is negative. Comment: The morphologic and immunohistochemical features are consistent with the diagnosis of pineal parenchymal tumor of intermediate differentiation. Based on the high cellularity, the high mitotic index, and the limited staining for neurofilament protein, this tumor would be consistent with the WHO grade 3 variant.
