Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (PINEAL) | Pineoblastoma | 11A1 (Case 11) H&E 10X
Case 11 History ---- The patient is an 11 year old girl with an enhancing pineal lesion. Germ cell tumor related blood tests are negative. ----
11A1-3 This is a hypercellular lesion with a lobulated architecture. The tumor cells are small to moderate in size, oval to round, with scant to moderate amounts of cytoplasm and fairly distinct cell borders. The nuclei show fine stippled chromatin, with occasional small nucleoli. There is abundant apoptotic/karyorrhectic debris, and the mitotic rate is brisk.
