4B2-7 The neoplasm is a malignant small round blue cell tumor. Individual tumor cells have a primitive appearance with scant to no discernible cytoplasm. The tumor nuclei are angulated and hyperchromatic and contain frequent apoptotic bodies and moderately frequent mitotic figures. Some other portions of the tumor show a greater degree of differentiation characterized by more abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and round to oval nuclei with coarse open chromatin.
