The tumor nuclei are angulated and hyperchromatic and contain frequent apoptotic bodies and moderately frequent mitotic figures. Some other portions of the tumor show a greater degree of differentiation characterized by more abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and round to oval nuclei with coarse open chromatin.
