Case 5 History ---- The patient is a 3-month-old boy with a large, fairly homogeneous, slightly T1 hypo- and T2 hyperintense solid mass centered in the pineal region. The mass measures up to 6.0 x 4.5 x 4.8 cm and has a cystic component. Operative procedure: Right endoscopic third ventriculostomy and biopsy of tumor. ---- 5A1,2 Sagittal MRI scans show a massive pineal T1-weighted hypointense mass without (5A1) contrast which enhances strongly with contrast (5A2).
