Case 6 History ---- The patient is a 13-year-old boy who presented with progressively worsening headaches, dizziness, and nausea over the last 1.5 years. He was subsequently found to have papilledema on my exam and brain MRI on showed a large, macrolobulated, multicystic/heterogeneous mass within the posterior aspect of the third ventricle/tectal plate/pineal gland. The mass measures 5.1 x 4.6 x 4.2 cm and abuts, and may potentially involve, the thalami, splenium of the corpus callosum, and superior aspect of the cerebellum. The tumor was biopsied and resected a week later. ---- 6A1-4 MRI studies: 6A1 The tumor is hypointense on FLAIR scan.
