3B4-6 Sections of the third ventricle mass show sheets of cells with round, uniform, hyperchromatic nuclei and a scant to moderate amount of eosinophilic fibrillary cytoplasm occasionally forming neurocytic/pineocytomatous rosettes. There are scattered cells with larger, hyperchromatic, bizarre nuclei. Mitoses are hard to find.
