Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (PINEAL) | Pineocytoma | 4B1 Pineocytoma (Case 4) H&E 3.jpg
4B1-4 Sections from the pineal region mass show a cellular pineocytic neoplasm composed of round to polygonal tumor cells with moderate amounts of amphophilic cytoplasm. The tumor cells are present in a nested pattern and form numerous pineocytomatous rosettes. In addition there are scattered cells with large atypical nuclei and some occasional cells which appear multinucleated. Occasional mitoses are encountered.
