At autopsy the unfixed brain weighed 1160g. The pituitary gland weighed 1.1 g (normal: 0.5-0.6 g), and, otherwise, was grossly unremarkable. The patient never had recognized pituitary or hormonal abnormalities at any time during her life. ---- 1A1 The H&E appearance of the bisected gland showed multiple discrete nodules within the adenohypophysis.
