Case 2 History ---- [48yo male with acromegaly. Operative procedure: MRI guided transsphenoidal hypophysotomy.] ---- 2A1-3 This H&E stained specimen consists of portions of a pituitary neoplasm arranged in a lobulated pattern. The tumor is composed of monomorphic round cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm and nuclei with a stippled chromatin pattern, some containing micronucleoli. Mitoses are difficult to find and necrosis is not evident.
