8B3-8 The second major histological pattern (neuronal transformation, 8A1, arrow,) is contributed almost entirely by one fragment that represents approximately one-tenth of the sampled tissue. This fragment shows few of the elements described above; instead, it is dominated by a broad web of pale tumor neuropil, interrupted by abundant dysmorphic, ganglion cells of variable size. The nuclei of these ganglion cells are highly pleomorphic, often supernumerary, and contain prominent eosinophilic nucleoli. Their cytoplasm is usually lightly eosinophilic and finely granular.
