Washington University Experience | NEOPLASM (SELLAR) | TTF-1-positive sellar tumor - Pituicytoma | 1A2 Pituicytoma (Case 1) H&E 9.jpg
Sections of the third ventricle tumor show a relatively well-circumscribed tumor, comprised of elongate, spindle cells arranged in a fascicular/storiform pattern with occasional whorls. The tumor cells show abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm and have oval to elongate nuclei with small nucleoli. A few mitoses are seen, 2/10HPF. Atypical features are not seen. There is no evidence of tumor necrosis. Interlacing sheaves of spindled elements lack pilocytic features. (H&E)
