Tumor cells are negative for neurofilament but do include a portion of the adjacent posterior pituitary. (NF IHC) ---- Not shown: Tumor cells are unstained for EMA. This is an old case which was not stained for TTF1. ---- Comment: The morphologic and immunohistochemical features are consistent with the diagnosis of pituicytoma, WHO grade I. This is considered a rare tumor of the posterior pituitary generally associated with an indolent clinical behavior.
