Histological sections of the cervical paraspinal mass show a neoplasm that is arranged in generally well- circumscribed nodules (fascicles) with an intraneural growth pattern; in three dimensions, these 'nodules' are interconnected. The larger nodules have a fibrous pseudocapsule, but lack a true, well-defined capsule. No normal-appearing nerve fascicles are identified in the periphery of these tumor nodules. (H&E)
