The tumor parenchyma has a pale myxoid background in which extremely fine, wavy, irregularly-arranged eosinophilic collagen fibers ramify for short distances at moderate density. The tumor cells are generally spindled, with thin, irregular nuclei and moderate eosinophilic cytoplasm.
