1G2 MPNST (Case 1) MIB 1
Nuclear reactivity for the proliferation marker Ki67 (MIB-1 antibody) is identified in up to 12% of tumor cells focally. ---- Not shown: Reactivity for neurofilament is present within entrapped axonal processes; these are more readily apparent in smaller tumor nodules, in which the 'native' nerve elements are not as vastly outnumbered by tumor cells. Reactivity for epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) is not observed. ---- Comment: This histological/immunohistochemical/histochemical pattern is consistent with a low grade MPNST arising from a plexiform neurofibroma.
