6B1,2 There is diffuse involvement of multiple brain areas, such as the orbital surface of the frontal lobe shown here, and nearly all sampled slides show involvement by metastatic MPNST. Multiple sections of cortex demonstrate profound neuronal loss, astrocytic gliosis, and neovascularization (consistent with infarction/hypoxic ischemic injury).
